Welcome to Keig School. We take pride in the fact that Keig is a happy and hardworking school with a real sense of team spirit. We want everybody at Keig School to lead happy, healthy lives as active citizens and confident life-long learners.
Parents and guardians play a very important part in the life of the school and the wider community. Therefore we want everyone to feel welcome in school and to play an active part in the learning at Keig. We hope that the partnership between home, school and community will be productive and enjoyable.
Our Motto:- If you believe it you can achieve it.
Thank you to the parents and members of the community who attended the consultation meeting regarding the closure of Tullynessle School. It was a really interesting discussion, and we appreciate your work to support both Keig and Tullynessle communities, recognising the importance of schools in the heart of our rural communities.
Currently this is a statutory consultation on whether the catchment area of Tullynessle should be rezoned for Alford Primary or Keig School, which means that the focus is currently on these two options. If the communities feel strongly that neither of these options are appropriate and show support of other ideas, then they may review and change the focus of the consultation requiring a new consultation process.
Those at the event on Monday evening were encouraged to share their thoughts and views through the consultation process so that they could be confident that they had clear guidance from the communities as to what they want going forward.
The form detailing how to share your views is available here:
